Plot Synopsis

Twelve-year-old Meggie Folchart (Eliza Bennett) and her father Mo (Brendan Fraser) share a passion for books. What they also share - which Meggie has yet to discover – is the ability to hear the whispers of the characters’ voices and a gift for bringing fictional characters from books to life when they are read aloud.

On one of their trips to a second-hand book shop, Mo hears voices he hasn't heard for years, and when he finds the book they're coming from, it sends a shiver up his spine – it is “Inkheart,” a book filled with illustrations of medieval castle and strange creatures. Inkheart is a book Mo has been searching for since Meggie was three years old when her mother, Resa (Sienna Guillory), disappeared…
